Big Opportunity as Assistant Professor for Aspiring Teachers in Sikkim
The Sikkim Public Service Commission (SPSC) has released an official notification (Advertisement No. 16/SPSC/EXAM/2025) dated 21st July 2025, announcing the recruitment of 61 Assistant Professors under the Education Department, Government of Sikkim. The posts will be filled through direct recruitment on a temporary-regular basis in Level-10 of the UGC Pay Matrix.

Educational Qualification
To be eligible, candidates must possess a Master’s Degree with a minimum of 55% marks in the concerned or allied subject. There is a 5% relaxation for candidates belonging to SC/ST and differently-abled (physically and visually) categories.
In addition to the academic requirement, candidates must have either a NET or SLET certificate, or hold a Ph.D. degree in the relevant subject as per UGC guidelines.
Age Limit Criteria
SPSC has provided different age limit conditions for in-service and fresh candidates:
- In-Service Candidates: There is no upper age limit, provided the candidate:
- Is a regular employee of the state government.
- Has worked for at least five years as an Assistant Professor or equivalent in a government college.
- Other Candidates: Must be between 21 and 40 years of age as of 31st August 2025.
