Ayodhya, January 17, 2024 – The much-anticipated Pran Pratishtha ceremony of Lord Ram Lalla at the Ram Janmabhoomi temple in Ayodhya is set to be a grand affair, drawing dignitaries and people from all walks of life. The seven-day rituals leading up to the consecration ceremony began with the host appointed by the Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra conducting the atonement ceremony on Tuesday.

As part of the Pran Pratishtha Mahotsav, Anil Mishra conducted penance at Sangopang on Tuesday, followed by a purifying bath in the Saryu river and the performance of Panchgavyaprashan. Acharya Vedicpravar Laxmikant Dixit presided over the Havan, and the recital of Valmiki Ramayana and Bhusundiramayana commenced in the pavilion.

Grand Rituals at Ayodhya’s Ram Mandir: Ram Murti Entry and Upcoming Ceremonies

In Ayodhya’s Ram Mandir, the idol of Lord Ram entered at 12:30 PM yesterday. The main ceremony, with Vedic chants, took place at 1:20 PM, creating a sacred atmosphere. The rituals, including the immersion of the idol, concluded on Thursday.

On January 19, Friday, at 9 AM, the Agni Prakat (lighting of the sacred fire) happened through Aranimanthan. Before that, there was worship of established deities like Ganpati, recitation of Vedas by gatekeepers, Deva Prabodhan, Ayurvedic rituals, installation of the Kund, and Panchbhoot Sanskar. The consecration of the Agni Kund by Aranimanthan, establishment of countless Rudra Peeths, primary deity installation, extensive worship, and evening prayers followed.

Legends of Ramayan, Arun Govil, Deepika Chikhlia, and Sunil Lahri, have arrived in Ayodhya in anticipation of the grand inauguration of the Ram Mandir. Arun Govil, renowned for portraying Lord Ram in the epic series, along with Deepika Chikhlia and Sunil Lahri, who played Sita and Lakshman, respectively, are set to witness the historic event.

Their presence adds a touch of nostalgia and significance to the momentous occasion, bringing the beloved characters from Ramayan to the heart of the celebrations in Ayodhya.

The Ram Lalla idol, crafted by Arun Yogiraj of Mysuru, has been chosen for installation in the splendid Sri Rama Mandir of Ayodhya 🚩.

According to Rai, the sculptor was deeply dedicated to his work, maintaining intense focus. Remarkably, he refrained from communicating with his family and children for 15 days, working tirelessly on the project.

Arun Yogiraj, described as a young, polite, and cheerful man, has an impressive portfolio. In addition to the Ram Lalla idol, he has also sculpted statues of Adi Shankaracharya in Kedarnath and Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose at Delhi’s India Gate.

On Wednesday, January 17, after 1:20 pm, the schedule included Jalayatra, Teertha Puja, Brahmin-Batuk-Kumari-Suvasini Puja, Vardhini Puja, Kalshayatra, and a tour of the idol of Lord Shri Ramlala in the Prasad premises.

The temple trust has extended invitations to thousands of VIP guests for the ceremony, making elaborate arrangements to welcome and honor attendees with gifts, including ‘Ram Raj.’ As part of the celebration, Teerth Kshetra Trust will distribute special ‘Motichoor laddus’ made from desi ghee as ‘Prasad’ to the guests.

The rituals will culminate on January 22 with the Pran Pratishtha ceremony, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to preside over the ceremonial installation of Shri Ram Lalla. The lead-up to the consecration ceremony began with rituals at the temple complex on Tuesday and will continue until January 21, according to temple trust general secretary Champat Rai.

In a symbolic gesture of devotion, a man from Hyderabad prepared a massive Laddu weighing 1265 kg to offer at the Ayodhya Ram Temple. The laddu, kept in a refrigerated glass box, will be transported to Ayodhya from Hyderabad.

On the second day of the week-long Pran Pratishtha ceremony, the idol of Lord Ram Lalla toured the premises of Sri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple. Vedic scholar Acharya Shri Ganeshwar Shastri Dravid announced the schedule, including Jalayatra, Teertha Puja, Brahmin-Batuk-Kumari-Suvasini Puja, Vardhini Puja, Kalshayatra, and a tour of the idol.
