On July 29, Mr. LB Das, the MLA cum Advisor for Land Revenue & Disaster Management, Information Technology, and Information & Public Relations Departments, made an important visit to the 2nd Battalion National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) stationed at Dam Dim, West Bengal. This visit aimed to strengthen disaster management coordination in the region.

During the visit, Mr. Das met with Inspector Sunil Verman of the 2bn NDRF. He expressed heartfelt gratitude to the NDRF team for their vital assistance during the Sikkim Flash Floods on October 4, 2023. The people of the 18-West Pendam Constituency, the Sikkim Government, and Mr. Das personally appreciated the team’s quick and effective response in mitigating the disaster’s impact.

Mr. Das highlighted the NDRF’s crucial role in disaster relief efforts, praising their dedication and efficiency. The discussions also focused on an upcoming meeting involving the NDRF, State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), and the District Collector (DC) at the Land Revenue and Disaster Management Department, Government of Sikkim. This meeting aims to improve disaster management strategies and enhance collaborative efforts to better safeguard the region against future calamities.
